Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane), is expected to open her heart once again for a new husband in "Reign" season 4. But the queen will find herself in the middle of two men who will compete for her attention in the upcoming installment.
Reports claimed that if the series will take a cue from historical records, Mary will meet Lord Darnley Henry Stuart (Will Kemp) as she nurses a broken heart over the death of her husband, King Francis of France (Toby Regbo), in season 3.
According to reports, Lord Darnley will be attracted to the Queen of Scots. However, he will also plot to oust Mary's biggest rival, Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten), and take over Mary's throne as the ruler of Scotland.
TVLine described Kemp's character as a nobleman who was the child of a highly ambitious mother "whose love hinges entirely on his ability to secure a crown."
Meanwhile, another man named James Hepburn, the Earl of Bothwell (Adam Croasdell), will also be introduced in the upcoming season of The CW's historical fiction. Reports claimed that the Earl of Bothwell will be the one who will help Mary thwart the evil plans of Lord Darnley.
If the TV series will follow the events in the real-life history of the Queen of Scots, the Earl of Bothwell will be accused of killing Lord Darnley because he wants Mary for himself. However, there are no confirmation yet if the network will incorporate the real historical accounts in the plot of "Reign" season 4.
In other news, fans of the series are still waiting for the official information regarding the premiere date of "Reign" season 4. But while The CW remains silent about season 4's release date, speculations claimed that the historical drama will make a comeback to the small screen sometime in January 2017.
