Real Madrid vs Espanyol live stream: Watch Spanish La Liga football online

Real Madrid will play Espanyol on Sunday as Real hope to keep their La Liga title hopes alive, although they will also have to hope rivals Barcelona lose to keep them in it.

Today's big game between Espanyol and Real Madrid takes place from the Cornella-El Prat in Spain, and has a scheduled start time of 1 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on TV on the beIN network, or online through live stream via the link provided below.

Even though Barcelona could still mathematically lose out on the La Liga title to Real, most Madrid fans will have lost hope in that happening by now. The Catalan club are four points ahead of Real with two games to play. Even the most optimistic Real fan would have a hard time suggesting that Barcelona would fail to win either of their last two games. Even if they did, Real would need to claim maximum points in their own final two games of the season to steal the title away from Barca.

Real boss, Carlo Ancelotti, must be finding it difficult to motivate the team in this situation. They were unceremoniously dumped out of the Champions League by Juventus in midweek in front of their home fans, and it looks almost certain that the La Liga title will be won by Real's fiercest rivals.

Their opposition today, Espanyol, are pretty much as mediocre as opposition come - they are ninth in the league table, and have very average players across the board, in offense and defense.

Also one of their star players, Lucas Vazquez, is actually on loan from Real to Espanyol, and written into his contract is a clause barring him from playing against his ultimate employers. That means Vazquez will not be able to play today against his parent club.

Real, meanwhile, will have to make do without their boss on the sidelines. Ancelotti's antics against Valencia last weekend have seen him receive a two match ban.

Today's big game between Real Madrid and Espanyol will kick off at 1 p.m. ET, and can be watched on TV on the beIN network, or online through live stream by clicking here.
