The premiere episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" featured a startling revelation from Shannon Beador as she emotionally recounted that David, her husband of 14 years, had an affair with another woman.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, the Bravo star talked about how they managed to save their marriage and the steps they are taking to heal their relationship.

Shannon said that the couple struggled with returning to the franchise before filming began for season 10. The 51-year old learned about the affair in April 2014, and she told the magazine that she and her husband were debating whether to air their marital issues on national TV.

Shannon said that it was a difficult decision coming back to the show, but they knew that they had to address David's infidelity as part of what's going on in their lives. She also said that they wanted to show this rough patch in their marriage to help other couples who are going through the same thing.

"What's important to us, as corny as it might sound, is we want to give other couples hope that even if there is infidelity, or something devastating in a relationship, if you both work and make the effort and love each other, you can get through it and get through in a better position than you started in," Shannon told Us Weekly.

The reality star also revealed that she and David have decided to seek help, not from a traditional therapist but from a woman who runs Couples Retreat. The Housewife said that they have a 90 percent success rate with repairing marriages and that they have received some tools and advice to help them fix theirs.

David also spoke with Us and said that so far, he and Shannon are in a better place and that they go on a dinner date every Saturday night after church.

"It's nice to have some alone time," he said. "It's really helped our relationship because previously we never did that."

Shannon and David are parents to 13-year-old Sophie and 10-year old twins Stella and Adeline.
