"Rainbow Six Siege" fans received hints last month that a new season may arrive in the game. Now, game developer Ubisoft has made it official, new contents will arrive in season 2.

The game's Twitter account posted the announcement the other day that said, "The past year has been an incredible journey, and we are excited to have you join us for another full year of content!"

Prior to the announcement on social media, the studio has also mentioned it during the Rainbow Six Pro League Season 3 Finals that happened during the weekend. It was a lengthy stream, but also included some other important announcement, about the fourth update arriving in the game. However, details of the next batch of DLC remain unknown since no details were given either, but are speculated to be similar to the first season, four new maps and eight new character operators.

Speaking of the fourth DLC, players will be taken to Japan to experience a new map called Skyscraper that includes special swan area and no basement. The developer also mentioned that the upcoming map could possibly be the most balanced map to arrive at the game, WCCFTech reported

Two new operators are also announced during the event, and is called Hibana and Echo. Players opting to use Hibana will benefit from her ability to deploy 3x6 charges that can be remotely detonated. The operator can also use these charges to create holes for the team's drone, as well as a bigger hole for squad members to pass through. Unfortunately, the ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) will not fit on her SMG weapon.

The operator called Echo, is the only one who can use his drone and can stun everybody, including his own self. His silenced MP5 can accommodate other attachment, which includes the ACOG.

Meanwhile, "Rainbow Six Siege" fans can expect Update 5.0 to arrive this month and it is expected full body skins to special operators, shield skins, a redesigned drone for the Fench operator Twitch and new artwork for the Russian Fuze.

"Rainbow Six Siege" is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
