"Prison Break" season 5 is very much welcome to fans of the crime drama who never thought the show will ever see the light of day again. However, it's a bit of a problem to some who watched Michael Scofield die in the final hour of the series that aired back in 2009.

One thing is for sure, Scofield will be back from the dead. The mystery lies in how he will be reborn and fans have all sorts of theories for that. As for Wentworth Miller, who plays the iconic character, he is simply happy about reprising the role.

During an interview with the "Today Show" on NBC, the actor revealed that he "never imagined that we would be coming back five or six years later to revisit these characters," adding that Scofield's return in "Prison Break" season 5 "is a treat and a privilege."

Wentworth also acknowledged the elephant in the room aka Scofield's escaping death again. "I think a lot of the fans are really excited to see where these characters are now -- especially mine as my character died twice at the end of the original," Miller said.

While Miller's character resurrection in "Prison Break" season 5 is being kept under wraps, it has already been said that it will be a major twist but one that does not involve his brain tumor or faking his death.

Fans need not to worry about how Scofield's return will be positioned because FOX CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman promise a "logical and believable explanation" for this.

"I don't think he's going to completely ignore what happened in that episode," Newman said (via Entertainment Weekly) referring to series creator Paul Scheuring and the ending of "Prison Break" season 4.

Apart from Miller, Dominic Purcell will return as Lincoln Burrows while Robert Knepper and Sarah Wayne Callies are in talks to return as T-Bag and Sara Tancredi, respectively.

"Prison Break" season 5 is slated to premiere later this year.
