'Pokémon GO' updates: Rare Nest rotation expected to happen this month, could start this week?

"Pokémon Go" fans are speculating that developer Niantic will start rotating rare nests during the whole month of September, and it could begin this week. If this proves to be true, hardcore gamers will have a hard time locating rare monsters.

It has been observed that "Pokémon GO' experiences nest's rotation every 23 to 24 days. This is a normal occurrence in the game and it's nothing for fans to worry about at all. Last month, a rotation happened on the 22nd day of the month, and the next one could happen anytime this week.

The good folks over Reddit have reminded players to check again the nesting areas in their vicinity or the ones they regularly visit just in case rare ones happen to be loitering around. Though the locations are randomly chosen, the next cycle could bring the nests either closer or farther to or from the players.

The BitBag points out that there are also cases that the actual nest does not disappear at all, but the pocket monster gets changed during the rotation process. It could be a Poliwag's nest now, but it could change into a Machop nest when it rotates.

Back in August, several players complained about several Dratini spawning areas that went missing. Niantic was even accused of removing several nesting areas because players kept on catching more and more of these creatures.

Players should remember that spawning areas and rare nests are not the same. There are many spawning locations where "Pokémon GO" monsters can be spotted, but they are not limited to a single type. Nests, on the other hand, are limited to a particular creature, but comes in large numbers.

Players can also check out The Silph Road, who has an extensive listing of what the old and new nest are outputting now before a rotation happens.

"Pokémon GO" is now available for Android and iOS devices and is free to download.
