'Pokemon Go' news: Trainers notice switch of location for region exclusives Seviper and Zangoose

Game developer Niantic recently introduced Gen 3 Pokemon in the augmented reality mobile game "Pokemon Go." As part of its update, it expanded the game's Pokedex adding more Pokemon. However, not all of these pocket monsters can be caught around the globe. There are some monsters that can be captured in exclusive locations.

The nesting site of these region-exclusive Pokemon is sometimes unannounced. This means that trainers need to figure out where certain monsters will be caught. This is what trainers did to Zangoose and Seviper. Fans were able to figure out that the two hard-to-find monsters have migrated over the course of the recent weeks. This was revealed by the Silph Road community on Reddit.

The two Pokemon are natural enemies, which means that they cannot be based on the same area. A place where Zangoose can be found will not yield any Sevipers. This is also the case of the Sevipers not being found in areas where Zangoose can be caught.

Prior to the shift in location, Zangoose is an exclusive Pokemon in North America, Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula regions. As for the Seviper, it can only be found in Australia, some parts of Europe, and the Middle East.

However, some trainers in the America and Africa reported sightings of Seviper in their area. Those in Europe and Asia are getting Zangoose. But some players in North America are still reporting that they can capture Zangoose. Because of this, there are speculations that they have changed their base or Niantic is not yet done with the switch. It is also possible that the pocket monsters are no longer region exclusives.

Game Spot reports that Niantic is silent about this matter, and there are no announcements yet if they have traded regions permanently or they will still return to their original base. Said rotation occurred after the Holiday event ended on Jan. 4.
