'Pokémon GO' news, rumors: First game event coming around Halloween?

"Pokémon GO" fans are anticipating that game developer Niantic is cooking up something for Halloween. It is rumored that the first every game event is about to happen soon, and nothing is more fun than going trick-or-treating while playing the game.

The rumor started when the game's official Facebook page put up two consecutive posts for an upcoming Halloween event. The first post was captioned: "With Halloween around the corner, we anticipate Trainers may encounter more Pokémon in the real world. The AR camera is a great way to capture and share these encounters with your friends!"

The second one said: "Halloween is a great time for going on a walk, getting Candy, dressing up in a costume, and catching Pokémon! Who will you be choosing as your Buddy Pokémon to get Candy with when you go Trick-or-Treating?"

Although several gamers are saying that it is just a regular advertising to get some hype for the game to keep it going, many fans are thinking otherwise. There is a possibility that an event will take place, and the studio might give away twice the candy that players can collect on a regular day, Forbes reported.

A bonus egg candy is also a nice idea, and it could offer a little more than double candy. Unlockable cosmetics is also a great idea for the event, and since it is Halloween, masks and costumes could be given away by the studio. It is also possible that a hoard of Ghastlys, Hunters, and Gengars, the ghost type pocket monsters, will run around the map more rampantly, the report added.

Since there is no official word on an event, fans are also discussing on Reddit the things that Niantic could possibly mean by the latest posts. Some are hoping that the spawns will double for a week, while others are suggesting that the studio is hinting that players take AR photos of the Pokémon they ought to catch together with their friends in Pokémon costumes and post them online.

Pokémon Gyms could be a hot spot for the coming holiday event. Niantics may put something in those places, too.

"Pokémon GO" fans are waiting for additional information coming from Niantic if there will really be a Halloween event for the game.
