'Pokémon GO' Gen 2 release date, features: Next update to include 100 new monsters; more evolutions to be made available?

"Pokémon GO" fans are very much excited for the arrival of the second generation of pocket monsters. It is speculated to add 100 new ones and a bunch more evolution options for both the old batch and the new batch. Pokémon trainers will be very busy again once it rolls out next year.

NeuroGadget reported that after developer Niantic's John Hanke has revealed big plans for the game during the San Diego Comic-Con, fans cannot stop discussing the Pokémon Breeding feature that will soon arrive in the game. Trainers will soon be able to pair full-grown Pokémon of opposite genders, of course, to produce baby pocket monsters. However, this feature is still under discussion, but players cannot wait to try and hatch Pikachu's baby version, Pichu.

Additionally, players will also be able to do candy farming, which is required in order to evolve or power up these monsters. A Daycare Tab will also be added so players can keep track of their new eggs, and monitor the required walk distance before it hatches.

Currently, there are already 151 pocket monsters available in the game, and it is rumored that a large number of trainers are almost close to catching them all. It is then speculated that this is the reason behind releasing another 100 pocket monsters upon the release of "Pokémon GO" Gen 2.

"Pokémon GO" Gen 2 is also rumored to bring in a new evolution line for its existing creatures, which is known as the legacy evolutions. For example, players who have Slowpoke in their inventory can evolve the creature further into Slowking, aside from the basic Slowbro. Those who have Zubat and Golbat can evolve them to the higher level Pokémon, Crobat.

Hanke also mentioned a customizable Pokéstop, which can highlight a player's creative side. Trainers will also be able to change a specific function of their respective Pokéstops. This will then give a unique feature to these numerous Pokéstops.

"Pokémon GO" Gen 2 is speculated to arrive by 2017.
