'Pokémon GO' Eevee evolution update: Trainers can decide which one they want among Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon

The current Eevee evolutions in the franchise wikia

"Pokémon GO" players recently discovered how to control the evolution of Eevee into their favorite Pokémon -- Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon. Millions of players are not leaving until every stone is turned in any given area.

Pokémon Eevee is very easy to catch and can be controlled in terms of what form to evolve into. One just needs to remember a few things: Vaporeon is water type, Jolteon is electric type and Flareon is fire type. The last of the three is considered the most dominant one.

In order to evolve Eevee into the desired Pokémon, one needs to change its name to Rainer to have a Vaporeon,  use Sparky to have a Jolten, and use  Pyro to have a Flareon.  Diehard fans were able to figure out that the original anime's name for the character has an effect on it, The Bitbag reported.

After changing the names, players are required save it and restart the mobile app. From here on, the Eevee should have transformed to the name of the choosing.

Meanwhile, 'Pokémon GO" fans are also expecting that two more additional evolution will arrive for Eevee once generation 2 update for the game arrives, Espeon and Umbreon . It is also expected to be more complicated than simply by changing names. A time period is also required to achieve the desired effect, 4 a.m. and 5:59 p.m for Espeon and between 6 p.m. and 3:59 a.m. for Umbreon, Slash Gear stated.

Espeon can be achieved b doing the evolution during daytime, while Umbreon at nighttime. Before one can do this, the Eevee character should have a Friendship level of 220. This will take a long time to achieve.

Several players have also noted that there are instances that the trick does not work. It is suggested by Eurogamer that players should restart the game, check if the names are in right. Most of the time, the name is misspelled or it was not saved prior to restarting the game.

"Pokémon GO" gen 2 is not expected to arrive until the first quarter of 2017.
