PS 4 vs. Xbox One: Which console to get this holiday season?

Holidays mean more discounts on different gaming consoles, but which one is a better buy for those who are looking to get one this season? Is PlayStation 4 (PS4) better than Xbox One or is it the other way around?

Personal preference is an important factor in choosing which gaming console would work best for an individual.

For instance, one needs to know which of the many game titles would be more appealing to him or her. CNET writes that for those who are more likely to play "Gears of War" or "Halo," they should get an Xbox Console. On the other hand, those who find "Uncharted" an interesting game should go for PS4.

The tech news portal further noted that compared to Xbox One, PS4 is compatible with more independent games. This means that those who want to try out indie game titles should go for Sony's console.

Performance is also one thing to consider since players would want an exciting and powerful gaming experience. Based on different reviews, PS4 is rated better in this category than Xbox One, and as mentioned in Neurogadget, Sony's console offers top notch performance.

Then there's the price of the gaming console — which is also a big factor in choosing whether to buy one or the other. Both consoles were priced at $300 on this year's Black Friday, but Sony stated that they will plan to continue the offer this Christmas, LatinPost reported.

As for Microsoft, it still has to make announcements on whether or not a special deal for Xbox One will be offered this holiday. That makes the console currently priced at $350.

It appears that most of the points go to PS4, but that doesn't mean one should ignore Xbox One.

LatinPost conducted a poll on the two gaming consoles and previously revealed that PS4 won the votes of many. However, in their most recent survey, Xbox One is currently a top choice.

As a conclusion, both consoles offer unique specifications that should satisfy gamers in different ways. As mentioned, the final choice would depend on personal preference.
