'Persona 5' release date: Genius hacker Futaba Sakura revealed in trailer; Game promises 80 hours game time

Developer Atlus recently released a teaser trailer for its upcoming game "Persona 5." The trailer shows a new character and is great with computers. The fifth iteration is expected to provide up to 80 hours of pure excitement.

"Persona" fans can expect a new character will arrive with the game. Her name is Futaba Sakura described as a genius when it comes to programming and hacking. She was a high school student, but suddenly stopped attending her class after an accident happened.

The game has earned an impressive score of 39/40 from the Japanese game publication Famitsu, as reported by Gematsu. Though it was met with criticism by the game's fans over at Reddit, saying that Famitsu has never provided consistent scores on the games it review, and seems to base its scores on the popularity level of a game. On the other hand, the fans are really hoping that the upcoming game will really be worth the wait. Fans can also expect up to 80 hours of fun and excitement for the upcoming game, Persona Central added.

Meanwhile, the upcoming game will be available in several editions. PlayStation 3 owners can only get the Standard Edition priced at $49.96. The PlayStation 4 version of the Standard is priced the same with Steelbook Edition, at $59.96 (with free Steelbook case). The Premium Edition is available for US$89. 96 and will arrive with a Morgana plush, school bag, soundtrack CD, hardcover art book and a Steelbook in addition to the game. Diehard fans with $169.99 to spare can have the 20th Anniversary Edition Deluxe. However, this will be an import game and will be in Japanese, but will be compatible with the U.S. system (region free).

"Persona 5" is scheduled for release on Sept. 15 in Japan, while the rest of the world will have it by Feb.14 of next year. The game will be exclusive for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. A traditional Chinese version was also reported to be available by next year.
