'Person of Interest' season 6 not happening, CBS confirms

 CBS

CBS has finally announced the much-anticipated premiere date of "Person of Interest" season 5, but the network is also not interested to bring the show back for season 6.

According to reports, the network has already decided to end the show after its fifth season. But this did not come as a surprise since CBS already reduced the fifth season to 13 episodes instead of the 22 to 23 episodes of the past four seasons.

Series creator Jonah Nolan and executive producer Greg Plageman talked announced the final season renewal in a joint press statement, as reported by TV Series Finale, saying:

"We're extremely excited to be able to share this final season with the fans. We're eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network. Most of all, we want to thank the show's fans — the best fans in the world. This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support. As life has come to imitate 'Person of Interest,' it's been our great privilege to work on the show for the past five seasons. We can't wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter."

The network also released the list of the titles of all the episodes that will come out in season 5, which include the premiere episode's "B.S.O.D.,"  "SNAFU" for episode 2, "Truth be Told" for episode 3, and "ShotSeeker" for episode 4.

The title of episode 7 is "6,741," while the 10th episode is called "The Day the World Went Away." The last three episodes for the series are called "Synecdoche," ".exe," and "Return 0."

The fifth and final season premiere of "Person of Interest" is scheduled to air on May 3.
