"Person of Interest" has been plagued with cancellation rumours for quite some time now, and it only made fans feel worse about the show's fate when its home network, CBS, announced the reduced order of episodes.

In the coming season, Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) will reportedly try his best to bring The Machine back to life, with the help of Root (Amy Acker). But the two will have it out, mostly due to disagreements on how resurrect The Machine. Finch's emotional side will also be featured greatly in season 5, as well as Root's growing relationship with Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi).

According to SpoilerTV, the title of season 5's finale episode has been leaked. It's reportedly called "Return 0." The term is mostly used to signify the end of an operation, which seems appropriate, if the rumours are true. The title will undoubtedly fuel speculations of the show getting axed.

Emerson has also reportedly expressed his hope that in the end, the good guys will win, even though the actor has no clue how the writers intend to close the series.

But one thing that fans can look forward to is a jam-packed season, that's for sure. It looks like creator Jonathan Nolan is more than making the most of 13 episodes of season 5, squeezing in every possible flashback and idea he can.

"I can't predict down the road but we're very proud of the show and if it's the last season, no one is going to be disappointed with the story we tell," said Nolan at a Comic-Con panel.

It certainly sounds like Nolan and his team are going all in for the possible final season. For what it's worth, it seems like it can provide some sort of comfort for grieving fans.

No official release date has been announced by CBS, but "Person of Interest" season 5 is expected to air sometime in 2016.
