A couple of days ago, rumors about a new event coming to "Overwatch" surfaced. They basically referred to an event specifically created by Blizzard Entertainment for the game's first anniversary. Well, this has just been confirmed by the studio.

The official Twitter page of "Overwatch" replied to a fan's inquiry regarding the particular date of the anniversary event. Interestingly, the developers replied, "No timing details yet." While this does not necessarily point to a certain date, it somehow confirms that the event is indeed coming.

The hit shooter game from Blizzard is nearing its first-year anniversary. Hence, most of the fans are already anticipating an event in the next few days. It is also worth noting that the success of the game heavily relies on the events introduced by the studio, e.g. Junkenstein's Revenge, Year of the Roster and Uprising.

Heavy reports that this upcoming "Overwatch" event will most likely end on June 5. If this is the case, then it is really possible that the video game company will unleash it soon. There is no word yet if the event will arrive with new brawls, be it player vs. environment or players vs. enemies. With the success of Uprising, it is likely that the developer will introduce wave-based content.

In related "Overwatch" news, Polygon reports that Blizzard is set to release a Game of the Year edition of "Overwatch." As expected, it will include the base game along with new, exciting stuff. The latter could mean anything from loot boxes to original skins to five undisclosed characters. In fact, the set will arrive with a baby Winston pet, which players can use in "World of Warcraft."

Lastly, a playable version of the unofficial "Overwatch" mascot, Tracer, will be included for "Heroes of the Storm." Similar to the the anniversary event, the "Overwatch" Game of the Year edition's release date remains a mystery.
