The second season of "Outlander" may be over soon, but speculations about season 3 are already starting to surface online.

Showrunner Ron Moore teased several details about the next season of the historic fantasy series during a Q&A session on Twitter.

According to Moore, the cast and crew will begin reporting back on the set to film the season based on Diana Gabaldon's third book "Voyager" from the best-selling "Outlander" series sometime in late August or early September.

Moore also teased the setting of season 3 in an interview with Zap2it, saying that the series will not be entirely shot in Scotland just like the second season. But compared to season 2, where the story immediately began in France after spending the whole season 1 in Scotland, the third season will begin in the hometown of Jamie Fraser. "'Voyager' is another another challenge, a different challenge, for the show," Moore said. The showrunner added: "Fortunately that story at least begins in Scotland, so we don't have to immediately switch to France like we did this year. But I know we're not shooting solely in Scotland — we have to find a ship and a tank and facilities and sets and the whole nine yards to do a sea voyage, because there's an extended sea voyage. They sail that ship around the Caribbean, then there's a hurricane and shipwreck." But while the showrunner said that he is very excited to shoot all the ship scenes, he also admitted that shooting in the Caribbean will be challenging for him and the rest of the crew next season. Season 3 is expected to air sometime in 2017.

Meanwhile, fans of the series must still look forward to the second season finale of "Outlander," which is scheduled to air on Starz on Saturday, July 9.
