"Outlander" season 3 will begin with the historic Battle of Culloden, and it looks like the cast and crew are working hard to put it all together.

Early this month, fans were treated to a spine-tingling still featuring an almost emotionless Claire (Catriona Balfe) walking through a field of dead bodies.

Now, executive producer Matthew B. Roberts shared a behind-the-scenes photo from "Outlander" season 3, which features the other side of war.

The photo featured men and horses huddled in groups, which will aid the fighters in waging war against the enemy. The black-and-white touch captures the moments of peace before the battle commences.

"Outlander" season 3 featuring the Battle of Culloden will be one of the major divergences that the television show will have from the books by Diana Gabaldon.

The upcoming season is based on the third novel in the series, "Voyager," which begins with the aftermath of the destructive war.

However, co-executive producer Ronald D. Moore found it best to stage the Battle of Culloden in "Outlander" season 3 as it is something that fans have been waiting to witness.

"It just felt like for the TV show, we've been promising this for a while and it just felt like we should have something," Moore explained to Entertainment Weekly.

"We should give the audience some sense of what happened on that moor," the EP went on to say. The work being put to it shows that the depiction of the moment on the show will be grand.

The battle will actually be the opener for "Outlander" season 3, so fans who have been waiting to see Jamie (Sam Heughan) battle his rapist Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall (Tobias Menzies) will not be disappointed.

Filming for "Outlander" season 3 is not expected to be completed anytime soon, but the series is still on track for a spring premiere on Starz.
