"Outlander" season 2 is expected to air in March next year and fans are getting all the more excited, especially when news and rumors about the show make the rounds on the Internet.

While fans will have to endure winter waiting months, spoilers and plot rumors circulating online still won't fail to whet their appetites. The latest news about the show is that Brianna, Jamie (Sam Heughan), and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) daughter, will become part of the series and will get to see her father as she travels through time.

In Diana Gabaldon's book which the series is based upon, Brianna doesn't make an appearance via time traveling until book four, although she has already been introduced in the second book titled "Dragonfly in Amber." But that particular plot will be featured in "Outlander" season 2.

As for who will be playing the role of Brianna, there has been no confirmatory report on the subject.

It was once rumored that Irish actress Maeve Foley will be playing as Brianna, but this rumor was immediately dismissed.

According to Movie News Guide, there is no truth to the rumor as confirmed by executive producer Maril Davis on her Twitter post.

Davis dismissed the rumors stating that any "real" casting news from "Outlander" should only come from a producer or announcements made by @Outlander_Starz or @sony. That means the role for Brianna is still an open spot and it's expected that the production will provide more details in the coming months.

Meanwhile, for those who want to keep the "Outlander" hype going while filming is ongoing, a blu-ray collection from season 1 is now being offered.

Heughan was part of the teaser video showing what fans will get when they purchase the "Outlander Season 1: The Ultimate Collection" Blu-ray. The season 1 blu-ray edition was launched last Tuesday, Nov. 3, and it contains a photo book featuring behind the scenes from season 1.
