The premiere date of "Orange is the New Black" season 4 is still up in the air, with no official announcements yet made by Netflix. However, that has not stopped the rumour mill from spinning wildly in anticipation of the new season coming in 2016.

Last season ended with a thrilling cliffhanger when drug dealer Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) was trapped into a corner by a security guard who turned out to be an assassin.

A number of fans wailed for the fate of Alex, but by the looks of it, she makes it out alive. Prepon is, after all, still involved in the show and filming her parts.

The latest word on the street about the comedy drama series is that a new member might be joining the team for an episode.

Matthew Weiner, creator of another hit show titled "Mad Men," is going to be directing an episode on the new season of the prison comedy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the episode will mark the first time that Weiner will direct something that is not of his own writing. Since "Orange is the New Black" creator Jenji Kohan is friends with Weiner, it's no wonder that the latter would agree to take on such a project.

As for who wrote the episode in question, Netflix has remained silent.

It looks like everyone on set is getting along pretty well and are having fun filming. The same publication spoke to Prepon about working with the Emmy Award winning director.

"We filmed a huge day on Sunday, and a lot of directors might have been overwhelmed by that, but he wasn't and he knew exactly what he wanted to do. With a huge cast like ours, when you have a director who knows exactly what they want, it makes everything go a lot smoother. I love Matt — he's awesome," she gushed.

Jodie Foster, Nicole Holofcener and Allison Anders also serve as directors on "Orange is the New Black."
