Now that Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) is the Dark One, "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) has gotten darker and darker, and the darkness may be intensified once "hell" is unleashed in the series.

In an interview with Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz during the New York Comic Con 2015 in July, the showrunners teased about the things that are to come for OUAT season 5B, with Kitsis summarizing everything as "hell."

Now, fans may soon be meeting the hell that the showrunner had described. In an Ask Ausiello portion from TV Line, it was revealed that OUAT is looking for the perfect actor to play a "mysterious, dangerous and vindictive God-like figure" that's only known as the "Distinguished Gentleman," abbreviated as "DG."

Will this new character bring the "hell" that Kitsis teased? Speculations are up and about that OUAT will soon feature an underworld theme and that the new character could be the Devil.

In relation to this, fans are also speculating that this rumor about the Devil character may just have something to do with another blind item recently released by TV Line.

In the blind item report, the news outlet stated that there's a long-time TV series well-loved on TV Line that's heading toward the path of death — the death of a major character.

Furthermore, the report explained that although there were not a lot details revealed, rumor has it that the big twist will be featured in the fall finale episode of the show.

The death news was not confirmed because the character plays an extremely important role in the show and there's also the possibility that the death plot will not be pushed through.

Despite that, there's still that possibility that it would, considering the trend of TV series these days — which is killing of major and established characters.

Will OUAT be the show that will have the major death plot? It only remains to be seen at this point.

Meanwhile, the next episode of OUAT will feature Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) portraying a role that's far different from what he was back in the previous seasons.

The fifth episode titled "Dreamcatchers" will show how the Dark One will demand Mr. Gold to be the hero and pull the Excalibur from the stone. Gold will refuse and beg for mercy but the Dark One gets help from Merida (Amy Manson), who will then train Gold.

"Once Upon a Time" returns tomorrw, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
