Oklahoma City Thunder trade rumors 2016: Team pursuing Blake Griffin of the Clippers?

Oklahoma City Thunder is in the lookout for talented players to further improve its roster. Now that Russell Westbrook is back, the team is said to be watching out for Blake Griffin of L.A. Clippers.

Morning Ledger reported that Thunder is reportedly ready to let go point guard Victor Oladipo and center Steven Adams to the Clippers in exchange for Griffin. Thunder is said to be interested in pairing up the 27-year old power forward with their own Westbrook in the front court. Griffin averages 21.5 points, 3.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

On the other side of the trade, Clippers will also benefit with the addition of Oladipo, who has an average of 15.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, and Adams, averaging 10.1 points and 9.5 rebounds. Adams is also emerging as a center to watch out for in the league. However, since Clippers has Olympic gold-medalist center, DeAndre Jordan, Adams will have to come off the bench.

Nevertheless, Griffin, according to sources, will be playing for the Clippers this coming season and will have no issues not to re-sign for the team. This is even after missing 41 games with a partially torn left quad tendon injury and suffering a fractured hand when he punched the team's equipment manager. Doc Rivers, the team's head coach, is also confident that Blake will not leave the team.

Meanwhile, Sports Rageous reported that there have been a lot of talks about Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Buttler being the top target for Thunder come 2017. Several sports analysts suggest that Buttler has the possibility to be one of the best players in the league and is a perfect replacement for the loss of Kevin Durant.  Butler has the perfect build for a small forward, and the Buttler-Westbrook combination will put the team at the front of the game, and what more if Blake will be added.

The 2016-2017 NBA season will kick off on Oct. 25.
