Oklahoma City Thunder trade rumors 2016: Blake Griffin still on radar of OKC

Not so long ago, a rumor suggested that Blake Griffin was "available." This spread like wild fire across the country.  Several teams were said to be interested in the power forward and one of them was Oklahoma City Thunder.  Clippers coach Doc Rivers quickly put out the fire, even saying that he would hope to see Blake's career end with his team.

CBS Sports reported earlier that a tension is already brewing between Griffin and Chris Paul. The tension was so high that it almost led to DeAndre Jordan moving on to Dallas. Eventually the tension subsided and the rumors died down, but not the interest of OKC. Since the team was not able to get him this year, they will try to get him next year, when Griffin moves to free agency.

According to the rumors, the Oklahoma City Thunder claims that Griffin grew up in the city and schooled in Norman. The team desires a working relation between the L.A. Clippers power forward with their own point guard Russel Westbrook., which, may catapult them to the position they have been longing for quite a time now.

However, this are just rumors in the past, and possible scenarios. Nothing really concrete had happened in the past few weeks, but hopefully, next year.

Meanwhile, OKC recently signed Semaj Christon for an undisclosed amount. The team is really preparing for the future by trying to acquire great young talents. This was announced by the team's Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti last Aug. 20.

Christon was drafted by Miami Heat back in 2014 as the 55th pick overall, but was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats for Shabazz Napier the following day. The point guard averaged 16.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game back in college for two seasons with Xavier.

The young point guard spent the last basketball season with the Italian team VL Pesaro, were he averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game for 30 games. He played for 33 minutes per game.

Since he still lacks the experience, OKC is hoping that he will greatly improve when he works alongside Russel Westbrook and Victor Oladipo.
