With the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 set for release this month, an online leak says that this graphics card will be able to compete against AMD's Radeon RX 480 once it comes out.

According to the iTechPost, this graphics card has 1280 CUDA cores, as well as a 192-bit memory interface and a GPU boost clock speed approximately around 1700 MHz. The video card is purpoted to have variants of 3GB and 6GB GDDR5 memory VRAM. Overall, these specifications allow the card a maximum of 4.4 TFLOPS computing performance at the maximum.

It has been stated that Nvidia, the company behind the GeForce GTX 1060, only rated its graphics card at 120W TDP. Of course, compared to the Radeon RX 480 with 150W, the latter is supposed to be better in terms of performance. However, with the leaked specs mentioned above, the GTX 1060 should be able to perform much better than the RX 480 in both standard gaming and virtual reality.

Furthermore, that would mean that the GTX 1060 will save 40 percent more power compared to the RX 480. As for its design, it's confirmed that it will have the Founders design. A lot of people are relieved that the leaked picture online had accuracy to say the least.

A lot of tech experts think that Nvidia will release the normal GTX 1060 with a price tag of at least $250 in order to compete with its rival company AMD.

The GTX 1060 is going to be released this month, and if the speculations turn out to be correct, it's possible that it's going to be on July 7, at an Nvidia-hosted special event in Melbourne, Australia. Regardless, it's only a matter of time before Nvidia makes a public announcement, so all the fans are doing right now is just to wait and see.
