Nintendo NX release date, specs news: next console rumored to be region-free; Prototype has 32GB internal storage?

More and more news bits are popping up about Nintendo's upcoming video game console, the NX, which is now said to be able to run games from any region. Additionally, sources familiar with the matter suggest that the current prototype contains a 32GB internal storage

Citing Let's Play Video Games, the Nintendo NX is said to be able to play games no matter where it was originally released. This feature will benefit a lot of gamers who has a knack for wanting to try other games aside from the games released to their specific region. There are games that Nintendo has published for the Japanese and European markets, but did not reach the U.S. soil.

Additionally, Insider Emily Rogers shared that a prototype contains a 6.2-inch multi-touch screen that features a 720p resolution. It also contains a 32GB internal storage, similar to the Wii U, while the docking station contains several USB ports, WCCFTech stated.

Prior to this, MCV UK mentioned that the graphics capability of the Nintendo NX sits in between a PlayStation 3 and PlyaStation 4, and that it will cater to gamers who prefers something more powerful than their smartphones but does not want to compromise mobility and be stuck at home using their PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

The upcoming console is said to be a handheld portable console and will come with a detachable controller. Players will then be able to carry it in their bag, and play their favorite games where ever and when every they want. The docking station can then be used if gamers prefer to use their big screen at home, Eurogamer reported earlier.

Nintendo's NX is also speculated to be adopting NVIDIA's power Tegra mobile processors and will use cartridge-based media. Digital downloads is also expected to be available but will not be backwards compatible with older games.

Nintendo has not mentioned any official statement with the NX except that it will be launched in March of next year.
