The Nintendo NX console has been one of the most talked-about video game systems in the past few months. It is expected to arrive in March 2017. It was also rumored that a surprise feature will come along the next gen console from Nintendo, which is a virtual reality compatibility.
The device was supposed to arrive this year, according to previous reports, but the latest news surrounding the arrival of the device suggests that the company is said to be adding a little surprise to fans, which reportedly caused a significant delay in the product's launching, Express reported.
Game designer Shigeru Miyamoto recently shared the idea to the Associated Press, and said, "In terms of NX, there's an idea that we're working on. That's why we can't share anything at this point, and I don't want to comment on the other companies."
He added, "If it was just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker."
Now, fans are contemplating on what particular features Nintendo is secretly building for them and many say VR will be one of them. Other rumors going around the community include the hybrid handheld design of its controller. These have been on the rumor mill since last year, the report added.
In terms of hardware specifications, Nintendo is very good at keeping things under wraps, except for what the new Nintendo President Tatsumi Kmishima said earlier. According to him, "As far as NX goes, I've said it's different and obviously a new experience. That being said, I can assure you we're not building the next version of Wii or Wii U. It's something unique and different. It's something where we have to move away from those platforms in order to make it something that will appeal to our consumer base," TechRadar stated.
Gaming consoles fans are expecting a head-to-head battle between Nintendo and Sony when 2017 arrives. The PlayStation Neo is also expected to arrive within the same year.
