Actress Nina Dobrev ("The Vampire Diaries") has been plagued with rumors ever since she shared a photo of herself with actor Norman Reedus ("The Walking Dead") at the American Music Awards.

Dobrev reportedly left "The Vampire Diaries" (where she played the role of Elena Gilbert) to pursue a career in film, but Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that it hasn't exactly been going well for her. The recent snap that she shared has fueled rumors that the Bulgarian Canadian actress is eyeing a role in AMC's "The Walking Dead."

The same publication claims that Dobrev's move of "cozying up" to Reedus was to get a part in the American horror drama television series. Reedus is reportedly the person one should impress, apart from the zombie-filled show's producers.

"Let's face it, if Norman Reedus 'puts in a good word for you' or requests that the producers take you into consideration for a part, you basically have the job in the bag," the article reads.

But the unconfirmed rumors have since been debunked by Gossip Cop, which asserts that the "unreliable site" does not have any sources to back up its claims.

The website goes on to explain that the show's casting agents, producers and the network itself are in charge of casting, and that Reedus is not the show's go-to person for such decisions.

The same site has also contacted Dobrev's representative, who said, "That site writes nonsense all the time."

Dobrev is currently filming her new movie, "Crash Pad," in Vancouver. Starring alongside her are Domhnall Gleeson, Thomas Haden Church and Christina Applegate. Variety reports that the film will be a romantic comedy.

"Gleeson stars as a hopeless romantic who thinks he's found true love with an older woman, played by Applegate — only to learn that she's married and that his fling is merely an instrument of revenge against her neglectful husband, played by Church. He threatens to blackmail her by telling her husband but his plan backfires when the husband decides the best way to get back at his wife is to move in with Gleeson's character and adopt the slacker's life of debauchery."

The film's release date has yet to be announced.
