Netflix TV shows and movies September 2015: Great selections with 'Silver Linings Playbook' and 'All is Lost' topping the list

September is just around the corner and while there are a few rousing events next month, none would be as interesting as this one: Netflix is updating its lineup of TV shows and movies.

"All is Lost" will be available on Netflix on Sept. 5. This story is about an old man, his boat, and the sea and his story of survival in the midst of destruction and hopelessness. This J.C. Chandor film is a gem with its fresh approach to telling a primal tale of survival.

"Silver Linings Playbook" has a winning cast and a talented storyteller of a director. This movie can surely sweep people off their feet with its drama. Although it might seem like a typical girl-meets-boy movie, the revelation of love in this one is quite unique and unexpected. It will start streaming on Netflix on Sept. 16.

Jack Black has never been as brilliant when he appeared in this wonderfully made film. "School of Rock" is about unconventional music education that led to the self discovery of the music teacher and the unleashing of the musical talents of the students. This hard-to-forget movie will be available on Netflix starting Sept. 1.

"Hemlock Grove" season 3 will be on Netflix in September (exact date not yet decided). This show is interesting enough especially after the well written season 2 ended. Now going back for more is but natural especially with the ton of eye candy this show thoughtfully cast.

"Person of Interest" season 5 will also start streaming on Netflix next month. This show is one riveting drama thriller that deserves another chance after the weakening of its following since it debuted on CBS 4 seasons ago. The good news about this show being on Netflix is the ease of binge streaming it so that fans can go through seasons 1 to 4 first before jumping right into season 5.
