After what feels like an official break, the special agents will be back tonight for a new and much-awaited episode of "NCIS" season 14.
The installment titled "Home of the Brave" will have Bishop (Emily Wickersham), Abby (Pauley Perrette) and McGee (Sean Murray) stating their case to Tony DiNozzo Sr. (Robert Wagner) about the possibility of leasing Tony DiNozzo Jr.'s (Michael Weatherly) old apartment to one of them.
It can be remembered that last season, the "very special agent" decided to somewhat retire from the service and focus his time and efforts on his newly acquainted daughter, Tali, who he didn't know he had with Ziva (Cote de Pablo). While this prospect in itself is interesting with Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) squad members trying to convince Senior, it seems like Tony's dad has something in store for his son's former colleagues as he announces that Junior actually bestowed on him the responsibility of being the unit's landlord.
In the promo clip for the episode, he also excitedly shares that he will be joining his son and granddaughter in Paris for the holidays.
Meanwhile, the weekly case hits a nerve with newbie Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) as it involves an immigrant serving the army. What is exciting is that it all started with the now-accused tipped on being just a witness to the crime until officers dig up his history.
In other news, there have been countless rumors lately suggesting that CBS is axing the naval-themed police procedural due to low ratings for their 12th year. Some even went as far as suggesting that Harmon is planning to leave the show. And while all of these scenarios are entirely possible, they are quite improbable as of yet. Just before season 14 debuted, "NCIS" had already scored a double-season renewal from the network making season 15 a sure thing.
"It's extraordinary that in its 13th season and with over 300 episodes to its credit, 'NCIS' continues to excel at such a high level on a global scale," CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller said, announcing their decision to order back-to-back servings of the series. "It is testimony to an amazing cast, led on and off the screen by the exceptional Mark Harmon, for skillfully bringing this universally appealing team of heroes to life."
Furthermore, Harmon is also locked in for at least two more years not just with his role as the team leader but also as an executive producer for the series.
"NCIS" season 14 airs every Tuesday, 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
