'Minecraft: Story Mode' set for Oct. 27 release in the United States

"Minecraft" is an open-world concept game so technically, there may be no room to insert a story mode. It has always been all about building things inside the game, although the approach could very well change in the future.

Back in December 2014, word about a possible Story Mode came up; unfortunately, there was no word on an actual release date. But a recent listing from Amazon could change all that.

A recent listing shows that "Minecraft: Story Mode" will be released in North America on Oct. 27 while another spotted on the Amazon U.K. side shows the game to be available three days later, Oct. 39.

The difference in dates is not really surprising since other products like mobile phones or tables would normally have varied regional releases.

Additionally, Amazon shed some details on the said game. The disc version will offer only the first episode while additional episodes (about four) can be accessed once they become available.

So does this mean that the listing is accurate? Considering that Amazon has added more details to it, the case could be. But then again, everything tied up to "Minecraft: Story Mode" could very well be confirmed no less by Telltale Games, the ones in charge of the spin-off.

"We've worked closely with the amazing team at Mojang to ensure this story is a natural fit for the "Minecraft" world fans already know and love," Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner said via Digital Trends when the game was announced. "As Jesse, players will steer their own path through a tale of adventure and survival; all brought to life by an all-star cast," he added.

For those who are unaware, "Minecraft: Story Mode" will be sold as a separate game. There is a chance that the said version could be the basis for that rumored "Minecraft" movie, which sadly is still a long way off.

As far as the game is concerned, "Minecraft: Story Mode" is expected to be made available for the usual leading gaming consoles.  Such include PlayStation 4 (PS4), PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Android and iOS. Check out the trailer below in case you haven't seen it.
