Millie Bobby Brown confirmed for Godzilla sequel 'King of the Monsters' in 2019

Young television star Millie Bobby Brown will be part of Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming monster film "Godzilla: King of the Monsters."

The "Godzilla" sequel is Brown's first film project. Brown is known for her role in the Netflix original series "Strangers Things as Eleven/Jane Ives, a young girl with psychokinetic capabilities. Brown will have her hands full with the "Godzilla" movie and season 3 of "Stranger Things" in the coming year.

Brown recently retweeted a countdown post for the "Godzilla" sequel on Twitter.

"Godzilla: King of the Monsters" is the sequel to the 2014 film "Godzilla." Warner Bros. Pictures will once again be working with Legendary Entertainment for the production. The movie will be directed by Michael Dougherty, who also helmed the horror movie "Krampus." Dougherty also served as a writer for the superhero film "X-Men: Apocalypse."

The plot of the movie sequel is about a crypto-zoological agency called Monarch taking on god-sized creatures like Mothra, Rodan, King Ghidorah and Godzilla. The movie was hinted at during the post-credit scenes of the 2017 monster film "Kong: Skull Island."

Brown, who is 13 years old, has also been offered a role in the upcoming movie installment of the "Chronicles of Narnia" franchise. There is still no confirmation if Brown will be part of "The Silver Chair" chapter.

The young actress received two awards in 2017, one of which was the MTV Movie and TV Award for Best Actor in a Show where Brown bested other actresses in the category like Emilia Clarke of "Games of Thrones" and Mandy Moore of "This Is Us." She, along with the "Stranger Things" cast, also won a Screen Actors Guild Award for best ensemble.

Many fans are excited to see Brown on the big screen and portraying a new role. "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" is set to premiere on March 22, 2019. The sequel will also feature Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and Sally Hawkins.
