Microsoft Windows 10 update, news: Fall Creators Update to come later this year

After the release of Windows 10 S, Microsoft has announced another update for their Windows 10 operating system (OS) called Fall Creators Update.

Microsoft held their Build developer conference the past week and Microsoft's CEO, Terry Myerson, made an announcement regarding the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update during the second day of the conference.

All the changes being brought by Microsoft to Windows 10 via the Fall Creators Update is consistent with providing users with accessibility. The OS will feature several updates, including Timeline. This feature will provide users a timeline of their activities given a specific date and time. This allows users to easily remember uncompleted tasks and provides the option to finish the task on another device with the same OS.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will also include Microsoft's virtual assistant, Cortana. Cortana will be able to guide and assist users with certain tasks, like pulling up a document that was being done from the PC and transferring it to the user's mobile phone. This allows users to complete any given task at any given location as long as they have one of their Microsoft-powered devices with them.

Another feature for the new OS is OneDrive files on demand. This allows users to locate files stored in different devices and lets them know which device the file is saved in. By providing a single place for all files to be saved in, Microsoft allowing multiple devices a way to be more organized and prevent loss of important files.

The new OS will showcase a completely different design from its previous iterations. Microsoft aims to deliver a more modern design by being more minimalistic, which also makes it more efficient for users. The new design will feature a depth effect, which will aid in putting more attention into a specific task the user is currently doing.

Myerson did not give a specific date as to when the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will be available, but guaranteed that it will come out by the end of the year.
