Precise information on Michael Schumacher's latest health condition is still hazy at this time, and his family has continued to remain quiet, keeping updates about the much-loved Formula champ private.
However, according to reports, the Formula One champion is recovering quite slowly and is even undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program in his home in Geneva, Switzerland.
Two years ago, shocking news broke that Schumacher had gotten into a skiing accident while at the French Alpine Resort. He had apparently sustained grave injuries to his head after the incident. He went into a coma and only woke up last June.
Some unconfirmed reports claim that he has 15 medical experts with him every minute of every day, with advanced medical equipment built just for his treatment in his Swiss home. According to The Mirror, the weekly cost of his rehabilitation is an astonishing £100,000.
It was also reported previously that Schumacher's wife, Corinna, had sold the seven-time F1 champion's €34m jet. She had also reportedly considered putting their chalet in France up for sale.
Due to his slow recovery and high medical costs, rumors of Schumacher's family having a hard time have been persistent online. However, all evidence points to them giving the former racing champion their full support and love.
Jean Todt, FIA President and Schumacher's close friend, still regularly visits the German racing driver, according to The Independent. And despite some rumors to the contrary, he says that everyone still remains hopeful for Schumacher's health.
"Michael is a close friend, his family is very close to me, and I'm very close to them as well. I see Michael very often, and Michael is still fighting, and we must keep fighting with the family," Todt encouraged.
Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm, also seems quite positive of the racer's health. In an interview with RTL Television, Kehm said, "We are happy to say he still does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had. But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."
