This will be Jamaica's first appearance in the CONCACAF Gold Cup Final, but they will be up against one of the most successful teams in the history of the tournament in Mexico. Today's game takes place from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and should see a packed crowd, although many may have expected to see USA in the final today.

But that shows all the more how well Jamaica have done to get to their first final. In their semi final against the United States, they capitalized on some slack defending to get their first goal, and then jumped on a mistake when the USA goalkeeper handled out of the box while making a throw forward, scoring an excellent goal from the resulting free-kick.

When the USA scored right at the start of the second half, still many expected it to just be a matter of time until the United States scored an equalizer as they applied extensive pressure to the Jamaica goal. But they held on for a famous win.

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera has issued a stern warning to his team not to take Jamaica lightly in today's final though. Mexico themselves have been far from their best throughout this tournament, and are only in the final thanks to an extremely controversial penalty awarded to them in injury time at the end of their semi final against Panama. That penalty award resulted in the game being held up for more than 10 minutes as the players erupted in protest, surrounding the referee at the shocking decision.

However, ultimately when the game restarted Mexico scored from the spot to equalize via Andres Guardado, moving the game to 1-1 and send things to extra time, where they once again benefited from a penalty award to win 2-1.

Herrera has denied that today's final will be easier for his team than if the USA had progressed to the final. He said, "United States played a great game, came, but did not take chances. Jamaica plays well, keep possession well and have quick players. We have to be attentive, nothing is easy."
