Mexico vs Costa Rica live stream (Fox Sports TV): Watch Gold Cup 2015 quarter finals football online (Preview)

Mexico will play Costa Rica on Sunday in a massive Gold Cup 2015 game on Sunday night. Two of the best teams in the competition will clash in the quarter finals tonight, and although Mexico will be favourites, Costa Rica certainly have the players to cause an upset if Mexico are not at their absolute best. Tonight's big Gold Cup 2015 quarter finals game between Mexico and Costa Rica has a scheduled start time of 7.30 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the Fox Sports 1 network, or online through live stream via the link below.

This is without a doubt the tie of the round in the Gold Cup, with two of the heavyweight teams on the CONCACAF facing off for a place in the semi finals.

It is fair to say that both teams have had their troubles so far this year, and even in this tournament, with neither fulfilling their potential during the group stages.

Mexico were only able to take second place in Group C after a lackluster series of displays, where as Costa Rica enter the quarter finals without even winning a game yet, having drawn all three games so far to finish second in Group B.

The result of both teams finishing second is that they are forced to face off against another major force in the CONCACAF at the first knock out round.

Things had started so well for Mexico, with them demolishing Cuba 6-0 in their opening match. However, since then it has all been downhill, and they failed to find any penetration against the 10-men of Guatemala in their second game, before looking at sorts in their 4-4 draw with Trinidad and Tobago during the week.

Mexico have not gone out at the quarter finals stage of the Gold Cup since 2005, but that is a real possibility this year if they do not step up and put on a solid performance.

It's all gone very wrong for Mexico so far, and fans are sure to be displeased with their side, after they entered the tournament as equal favourites with the United States. But Mexico fans have had to watch as the USA have steamrollered their way into the semi finals, while their own team has failed to spark since their destruction of a Cuba team lacking numerous players, and in chaos as they arrived for the tournament.

Costa Rica meanwhile have also not performed anywhere near as well as expected. Hopes were high this year for Costa Rica, after they managed to defeat both Italy and Uruguay, and draw against England in last summer's World Cup in Brazil. They went all the way to the quarter finals of the World Cup before finally losing to the Netherlands in a shoot out. However, they have looked a shadow of that team during the Gold Cup so far.
