'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date rumored to fall in 2017; EA explains scant game updates

 Bioware

Fans are worried about the lack of updates for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" after its enthralling teaser back at the E3 2016. However, it seems that things are going as planned, and fans can be rest assured that the game will have its release date sometime next year.

According to Game Informer, Patrick Soderlund, EA executive vice president, explained at the recently concluded Gamescom event that the reason behind the lack of release of a new footage as well as the noticeably weaker marketing push around the game is simply because the time is not right. He said that they have already played through the game's first three hours and that it is playable. With this, he added that the game will get more exposure in due time.

After all, EA is currently occupied in pushing for the games they are about to release this year, namely "Battlefield 1" and "Titanfall 2." It is then to be expected that more updates about "Mass Effect: Andromeda" to be released during this year's N7 day, which will be on November 7, since BioWare is known to share some new information about the "Mass Effect" universe on this informal fan celebration day.

With this, Alphr reports that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is BioWare's most ambitious game just yet. The game developers are even boasting that the game will have zero loading screens without compromising the scale of the game. Also, the Mako Rover will be back for more planetary exploration missions, but this time a lot of fans are expecting the experience to be much better than the last time.

Lastly, the same article states that BioWare explicitly states that this game is not the sequel of "Mass Effect 3," and as such, "Andromeda" will not feature the iconic Commander Shepard.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is expected to be released early 2017, between January to March for PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
