'Marvel's Agent Carter' season 2 renewed or cancelled? Air date could be in 2016

Expectations were high when Marvel's Agent of Carter was set to be aired on television, considering that folks who were able to watch "Captain America: The First Avenger" were curious to find out what happened to Agent Peggy Carter after Cap supposedly met his death towards the ending of the film.

Actually, most Marvel fans may not actually give it a serious thought until the company decided to create the TV series in what was believed to be meant to show off a triumph for feminism. Unfortunately the series somehow got lost along the way after debuting magnificently.

Critics believe that half-hearted plots and lack of focus on the series are the main reasons behind the show falling short of expectations.

Though Agent Carter did showcase advanced weaponry and tried to tie up some plots and future ones which could be tied up to other Marvel movies, it seemed that there was simply no direction.

And with a shortened 8-episode lineup, one has to wonder what the future lies for "Marvel's Agent Carter."

Hayley Atwell had played her role well, continuing her saga dating all the way back to the Captain America movie. But was season 1 simply about establishing plots or Agent Carter?

The finale, "Valediction" left a lot of questions as the season drew to a close. But as mentioned earlier, there were a lot of questions on which direction the series is headed. Some believe that Agent Carter is trying to tie up loose ends and prepping other Marvel flicks. Independently however, Agent Carter fell out of context and simply became less interesting.

The only thing going for it is that well, it is from Marvel. Aside from that, the series itself seems to be a half-hearted production which brings up the question on whether it deserves a second season.

To date, the series remains unsigned. If ever it does get the nod, Agent Carter 'COULD' return for a second season in 2016.
