"Married at First Sight" season didn't really turn out well as expected. Now, FYI is trying to bring back life to the show by renewing via a spin-off, "Married at First Sight: The First Year," instead.

The spin-off, the first episode of which will air on Oct. 13, will feature stories of the married couples from season 1 — Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis, along with Jason Carrion and Cortney Hendrix.

In the first season of "The First Year," the couples were seen to have different milestones in their relationship, including holidays, birthdays, and meeting the families.

The couples' struggles within their married lives were also featured. Fans also got to see problems involving career and extended family featured in the first season.

For the second season of "The First Year," it will continue to show the couples' journey to happily married lives; the challenges they have faced; and what they've done in order to stand up to those challenges.

As previously reported, Jamie and Doug will be having problems with their finances as the former feels her husband is not being responsible with money.

Jamie will also deal with the fact that Doug still depends so much on his parents despite being married and being an adult.

On the other hand, Cortney will struggle with feelings of jealousy as ladies get near her husband.

Being a popular firefighter, Jason will now enjoy getting the attention of a lot of ladies who are after his autograph and this, of course, will make his wife jealous.

International Business Times revealed that season 2 will show Cortney showing up at Jason's event unexpectedly and is caught in an awkward situation when she sees her husband getting touchy-feely with his fans.

Will this jealousy become an ongoing problem for the couple?

Meanwhile, "The First Year" season 2 will also feature a new couple, according to reports. Neph and Jasmine will make an appearance; Neph is Jason's best friend who met his love back in Las Vegas.

Season 2 will also showcase their story as Jasmine took a flight to New York just so she can be close to her boyfriend.

Watch out for the brand new season of "Married at First Sight: The First Year" expected to premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 9 p.m. EST on FYI.
