'Man of Steel 2' movie cast news, rumors: Three Superman characters who may be appearing

While many people are hooked up about the coming "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie for 2016, there has been little word on what the "Man of Steel" franchise could possibly have to offer. In fact, all has been quiet on that front, seeing that Superman could very well be busy with the upcoming film as well as some Justice League films following it.

That was until now, when buzz came out that "Man of Steel 2" could be inserting three Superman characters. The three characters are Brainiac, Supergirl, and Bizarro.

Brainiac being cast for the sequel seems to be expected. Being the second greatest enemy of Superman next to Lex Luthor, the alien villain is surely something to look forward to.

However, rumors suggest that Brainiac won't be going after the Man of Steel. Rather, he will be looking for the codex, which General Zod was also targeting in the first installment of the franchise.

Supergirl or Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin will reportedly be starring in the sequel as well, though it remains to be seen what role she will have. Whatever her role will be, word has it that she will be equally important to "Man of Steel 2," just like her cousin.

Rounding up the three-rumored cast is Bizarro, that Superman clone who will reportedly be created by Brainiac. Bizarro's roots don't really seem to see Brainiac having a hand in his creation; just the same, his inclusion should be something different and interesting to watch.

Looking at previous Superman films, Bizarro's inclusion should be interesting. Until now, he only appeared in animated films so one has to wonder how Zack Snyder will portray the cloned opposite the Man of Steel.

All these remain unconfirmed for now, but if this heavy cast of Superman characters are indeed appearing, "Man of Steel 2" should be pretty interesting to watch.
