MacBook Air 2016 price, specs rumors: Apple's cheapest laptop ever?

Apple's MacBook Air 2016 is rumored to cost about $899 and such speculation has been consistent since.

Apple is known to produce very expensive gadgets but if price rumor mentioned above prove to be true, then the laptop will surely be Apple's cheapest MacBook Air ever, according to Australia Network News.

MacBook Air 2016 has been surrounded with rumors, the latest of which states that it would be a laptop best used for gaming.

Air 2016 will reportedly have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 video card, which is considered as high-quality, freshest video card introduced in the market.

Aside from this feature, MacBook Air 2016 is also expected to run on a Core M-based Skylake processor, which will allow the device to have superior performance and more efficient power compared to those running on Broadwell Core M processors.

The Skylake processors are said to hit the markets later this year or early 2016, which means that if MacBook Air 2016 will be announced late this year, the devices will be distributed by early next year.

Since the laptop will carry the Skylake processors, it could possibly feature wireless charging, according to Venture Capital Post.

Wireless charging has already been considered by Apple and it was evidenced by previous patents applied by the tech giant but did not push to apply it to its devices, Mac Rumors reported.

Other specs for the laptop may include USB Type-C support, Force Touch, and Retina display.

With all the notable features that MacBook Air is rumored to carry, many tech experts predict that the new device will be introduced in the upcoming event by Apple, which is also speculated to launch a new iPhone.

MacBook Air 2016 will reportedly launch this October. Apple has yet to comment on the price and specs rumors.
