Lies and loyalty seem to be the central theme of "Longmire" season 5, based on the latest trailer released by Netflix.

The new sneak peek shows the aftermath of the shooting incident involving Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and his girlfriend Donna (Ally Walker) during the end of season 4. As seen in the trailer, Longmire cannot recall the events leading to the shooting. The incident will also become the reason why Longmire questions the fate of his relationship with Donna.

The trailer also shows that Longmire's daughter Cady (Cassidy Freeman) will have to deal with the aftermath of her deal with Jacob Nighthorse (A. Martinez). This means that she will have to betray her father.

While Longmire recuperates from his gunshot wound, his partner Vic (Katee Sackoff) will allocate some of her time for her new relationship with Ferg (Adam Bartley). However, there can be more than what meets the eye, since the newfound relationship could be cloaked in deception.

Meanwhile, Longmire's best friend and confidant Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips) will find himself in the middle of two opposite factions in "Longmire" season 5. But his life could be in danger because of his allegiance with one of the parties involved.

Despite the presence of Donna and Ferg in their lives, speculations claim that Longmire and Vic will also find themselves in a romantic relationship in "Longmire" season 5. This could be possible if the Netflix Original series will stick with the storyline of Craig Johnson's popular "Walt Longmire Mysteries" book saga where the TV series is based on. However, the details about the possible turn of events in Longmire and Vic's lives are still unannounced.

Netflix is scheduled to drop all the latest episodes of "Longmire" season 5 on Sept. 23 on the entertainment streaming provider's website.
