Vandal Savage was established as the biggest villain that the unlikely group of superheroes and anti-heroes had to face in the first season of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow." But the show will take a different approach in introducing the show's next enemy when the series returns for season 2 in October.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Marc Guggenheim talked about the plans for unveiling the new big bad in an unconventional manner.

"Unlike season 1 of Legends, where we basically had the big bad introduced in the crossover, what we're going to do in season 2 of Legends will be more similar to what you've experienced in the first three seasons of Arrow or the first two seasons of Flash, where it's more of a slow reveal and a little bit of a mystery," Guggenheim said.

While the executive producer did not provide any specific name for the upcoming season 2 baddie, the report debunked the rumors that the evil alien race called the Thanagarians will cause troubles on Earth next season.

Meanwhile, Deadline exclusively revealed that a new hero will be portrayed by "What I Like About You" star Nick Zano in "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" season 2.

According to the report, Zano will portray the role of a historian named Dr. Nate Heywood. He is reportedly the grandson of Justice Society of America member Commander Steel.

Based on the DC Comics, Nate will be known as Steel/Citizen Steel, one of the former members of the Justice League of America.

Nate is just one of the two new regular characters joining the upcoming season of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" to fill in the void left by the Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), who opted to leave the team in season 1, and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), who will become a recurring character next season since he will also appear in "The Flash" season 3.

"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 premieres Oct. 13 on The CW.
