'Legends of Tomorrow' episode 5: Stein becomes new target in 'Prison Break'-inspired episode 'Fail-Safe'

"Legends of Tomorrow" episode 5 will see Dr. Martin Stein in serious danger. Titled "Fail-Safe," the episode begs the question of whether or not the team will end up being two legends short with Stein's life now on the line.

The promo for "Fail-Safe" shows that Stein was captured by Vandal Savage's men while the immortal was trying to make his own Firestorm. Stein's capture prompts the rest of the team to hatch a plan to get him out of Savage's clutches.

However, it seems that Stein's death won't happen in the hands of the enemy but his own team. The promo for the upcoming "Legends of Tomorrow" episode appears to be hinting that Sara is about to shoot the half of Firestorm on Rip's orders. The synopsis calls it her "secret side mission."

While Stein is the primary person Vandal needs to put another heinous plan in place, Ray and Rory were also thrown in a Russian gulag that the rest of the team will infiltrate. What better way to rescue their peers than a prison break.

The next episode of "Legends of Tomorrow" will be a treat to fans of the FOX serial drama "Prison Break," which will be getting a fifth season seven years after airing its fourth season finale. Wentworth Miller's character Snart will be leading the charge.

For the uninitiated, Miller and Heatwave's portrayer Dominic Purcell are the lead stars of "Prison Break." Miller plays the role of Michael Scofield, the man who orchestrated a plan to get Purcell's character Lincoln Burrows out of prison.

"I said to the writers, 'If we're going to do a prison break episode, that's perfectly fine, but we better come up with a goddamn funny line for either Dominic or Wentworth to say, or we're all fired,'" executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly.

"Legends of Tomorrow" episode 5 "Fail-Safe" airs Feb. 18, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
