'Legend of Zelda' Wii U rumors: Leaked video promotes upcoming Zelda Wii U game?

The "Legend of Zelda" Wii U has been confirmed to arrive this year, making it one of the most anticipated games for the console. It is also a subject of several rumors and speculations, the latest of which is a marketing video that may have dropped hints about the upcoming game.

Gamer Professionals on Dec. 28 reported that it received a video from a "trusted source." The authenticity of which still has to be confirmed, although the news outlet swears it had seen the content. But the video, titled "First Draft" reportedly had watermarks from Nintendo, Creative Minds and Souls, LLC and J. Richards.

It's unclear if the video serves as a promotion for "Legend of Zelda" Wii U or if it's an entirely separate game, but it contains the theme of a parent-child relationship.

The report stated that a little girl wishes to grow up to become the main protagonist, Link. Skip toward the final scenes, the video reportedly showed the texts "A New Generation Begins" and concluded with the words "Only on Wii U."

Speculations are rife as to what the video could mean. iDigitalTimes mentioned that perhaps the video is a marketing strategy for Zelda players, mostly of whom would have been parents by this time, trying to introduce the game to their kids.

Then again, the video may have dropped a hint that the next "Legend of Zelda" Wii U game would feature a much older Link.

Gamer Professionals also mentioned how the video featured a little girl--not a boy-- aspiring to become Link, which may suggest that the next Link is female.

These are all speculations and at this point, nothing has been confirmed. This only builds up the hype for the game especially with its imminent release.

So far, there are only two Zelda game titles made for Wii U. One is the game that arrives this year and is yet to be titled and "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD," which arrives in March, as reported by Design & Trend. The recently leaked video may or may not promote either of these games.
