Kelly Rowland shared a poignant photo of herself and her baby boy Titan on her Instagram page, the first she's posted to the social media site since the death of her beloved mother.

Doris Rowland Garrison passed away on Tuesday in Atlanta, at the age of 66.

In a statement at the time, Rowland paid tribute to her mother as "an incredible soul who made countless sacrifices so that I could become the woman - and now mother - I am today".

Her passing came just a few weeks after the arrival of Titan Jewell Witherspoon, Rowland's first child to husband Tim Witherspoon.

The gorgeous baby boy weighed in at 7.5 lbs and was being cradled by Rowland in the photo she shared to Instagram on Friday.

She hinted at her sadness with a caption movingly speaking of the joy her son is bringing her.

"My only sunshine......you make me happy, when skies are grey," she wrote.

Fans of the Destiny's Child member jumped in with their messages of condolences to the singer, with many of them offering their prayers for her.

"Sending prayers, hugs, & love to you @kellyrowland♡♥♡ May God continue to bless, comfort, & keep you," wrote one fan.

Another wrote about having a similar experience to Rowland: "@kellyrowland So sorry for your loss.. I empathize because My father passed away 15hrs after my daughter @kennedydream was born. The pain is unbearable but the joy your baby will bring you helps to ease the pain.

"I've been praying for you that GOD gives you strength during this difficult time.  Your Mom is In better place and you have a beautiful angel with you always. Congratulations on being a new mommy. Your greatest performance yet!"

Rowland is a Christian and told ContactMusic a couple of years back that the one thing she can't be without when she's on her travels is Scripture.

"When I'm on tour the one thing I can't be without is my Bible," Rowland shared, according to Contactmusic.com.

She previously told radio host Russ Parr that her success in music was all down to her faith in God.

"It's been my faith that has gotten me to where I am right now," she said. "It's been my faith that has kept me in the game for 15 years when I wanted to give up at certain times.

"It's been my faith that let me know what an incredible virtuous woman I am and not allowing the rest of the world to tell me who I am or what I am or what I should be doing or who I should be."
