The CW has finally revealed the date when fans of "Jane the Virgin" will find out if Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) is dead or alive. It will be revealed in the premiere episode of season 3.

Based on the network's fall 2016-2017 releases, Gina Rodriguez's telenovela dramedy will return to the small screen on Oct. 17. This means that fans will still have to wait for a while until the fate of Jane Villanueva's (Rodriguez) husband will be revealed.

At the end of the sophomore season, Michael was shot by his partner Susanna Barnett (Megan Ketch), who was actually the evil Sin Rostro (Bridget Regan) in disguise. But the season ender did not reveal whether Michael survived the gunshot.

Even the actor who portrays the role of Michael in the critically acclaimed series revealed that he was also a little disappointed that the character was shot shortly after he and Jane got married.

"When he got shot I felt sad and upset as me. It's just a weird trippy thing because I feel like me and Michael are two different people. It's almost like I'm schizophrenic," Dier said in an interview with Gold Derby in June.

The actor also revealed in the interview that he only found out about Michael's shooting from series creator Jennie Snyder Urman the day before their table read for the finale episode.

"She told me the day before the table read. She was like 'just so you know, you're getting shot' and I'm like 'alright. Cool,'" he shared.

Fans are still waiting to see if Jane and Michael could still have a chance to consummate their marriage in season 3. But since the title of the show is "Jane the Virgin," viewers are wondering if the lead character will finally agree to be physically intimate with someone in the upcoming season.

However, Urman teased that the highly anticipated milestone in Jane's life will finally happen soon.

"Jane will lose her virginity this year," the series creator told Entertainment Weekly. "In what context and with who remains to be seen."
