A lot of Apple enthusiasts were left disappointed after the recently concluded event hosted by the tech giant did not give out any information regarding the new iPad Mini. However, it looks like there is still hope for iPad fans as recent reports say that upcoming news will cheer them up in the future.

According to the University Herald, the new iPad is yet to be revealed and was absent from the September event held by Apple. As such, a lot of tech enthusiasts are saying that the iPad Mini 5 will not be released this year.

Regardless, new speculations are now pointing out that the device will instead be released within the first quarter of 2017, specifically around March.

The buzz around the device is so palpable that some rumors are saying that the iPad Mini 5 will be revealed soon, and several leaks say that the new iPad will have a moderate redesign as well as some other changes that will differentiate the new iPad from older versions.

It is rumored that the iPad Mini 5, as well as the iPad Air 3, will have thinner designs at just 5mm, compared to the 6.1mm width of its predecessors.

According to Headlines & Global News, the specification stated above will most likely mean that it will have a 7000-series aluminum chassis installed. As such, it is expected for the new iPad Mini 5 will be more resistant to bending due to the durablility of the case.

The Mini 5 will additionally feature a smart connector, and like its iPad Pro counterpart, it means that the device will also get its own smart keyboard.

Lastly, due to the recent design revolution that Apple has been spearheading, it is possible that the iPad Mini 5 will do away with the standard headphone port. In any case, more updates might be posted soon, and everyone is encouraged to stay tuned.
