"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder and "Twilight" star Nikki Reed are soon to welcome a new addition to their family.
Somerhalder and Reed are known to be animal lovers. They have a lot of pets that they treat as their kids. In fact, they even adopted a horse back in 2014, as reported on E! News. However, this time, the newest addition to their big family is not a four-legged furry animal. They are finally expecting their first child!
The excited couple announced the pregnancy on their respective Instagram accounts on Thursday. They posted identical photos, in which Somerhalder is seen kissing his 28-year-old wife's baby bump.
"Hi Little One. I know you, but only because I feel you. How is it possible to love someone so much already?" Reed captioned the photo she posted. "All I know for sure is it's the strongest feeling I've ever felt. We've been sharing this body for quite some time, and we've already experienced so much together. We can't wait to meet you... Love, your parents."
On Somerhalder's account, he posted the photo with the caption: "To our friends, family, and rest of the world. In my 38 years on this earth I've never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this. I can't think of anything more exciting than this next chapter and we wanted you to hear this from us first."
He continued his heartfelt letter, saying that they have been wanting to keep the pregnancy a secret from the public for as long as they could. "This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast...because that's what they do, they grow so fast. Thank you for your kind energy. Love, Ian."
As for the due date and the baby's gender, the couple has not yet revealed these details. So fans would have to wait for an official announcement to find out.
Somerhalder and Reed made headlines back in 2014 when they got engaged after six months of dating. They tied the knot in 2015 in Santa Monica, California, and celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month.
