Reed and Somerhalder both shared the same photo on Instagram. The snap is of the former showing her growing baby bump, while the latter is bending down to kiss it. The mother-to-be wrote a message to her unborn child, expressing the love that she feels for her child.

She wrote, "How is it possible to love someone so much already?"

Somerhalder wrote a message as well, which is for their family, friends, and fans. Like his wife, the actor could not hide his excitement for their first child. More importantly, in his message, he explained why they have kept the news secret until recently.

He wrote, "This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast...because that's what they do, they grow so fast."

Aside from the pregnancy news, Reed recently announced the opening of her clothing line. The photo the couple shared is one of the promotional images for her newly launched company, Bayou With Love. The clothing line is made of eco-friendly options. The chambray dress Reed wore in the announcement photo is one of the maternity clothes they are selling. According to the actress, Bayou With Love sells "sustainable and low-chemical" maternity clothes.

The Hollywood couple recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary. They tied the knot in 2015.

To note, Somerhalder and Reed have yet to reveal their baby's sex. Perhaps the couple will make the announcement in the weeks to come.
