Hulu and Netflix add classic movies to 2018 catalog, including 'The Truman Show,' 'Reservoir Dogs,' and 'Karate Kid' series

Hulu and Netflix is expanding their collection of films and TV shows for subscribers to watch this year. For those who love to use these streaming services when watching shows, a list of new additions to the catalog has already been posted.

The classics are a must-watch for any buff. Of course, they are not only for first-time viewers but also for those who feel like they just want to experience the films again.

First off, there's "The Truman Show." This movie stars Jim Carrey, who plays the role of the titular Truman.

Truman lives in a modern equivalent of a "Big Brother"- style TV show, but on a much, much grander scale. His life is on camera, 24 hours a day and seven days a week, from the moment he was on his mother's womb and going on through adulthood. The neighborhood he lives in is one big TV set, and everyone he interacts with are paid actors.

He does now know about any of this, of course. The drama gets really interesting when he gets hints that his life is really not what it seems.

The Truman Show will be available on Netflix stating Jan. 1, 2018.

For those who never got the chance to experience the story of Mr. Miyagi and Daniel LaRusso (or those who simply want to relive it), Hulu will offer all "Karate Kid" films and its sequels for viewing.

This means that the original 1984 "Karate Kid" film will be available. Sequels "Karate Kid 2" and Karate Kid 3," which came out on 1986 and 1989 respectively, will be available for viewing as well.

For those who look for a true classic, Hulu offers Quentin Tarantino's crime thriller "Reservoir Dogs." This movie follows the story of a heist gone wrong, with drama, wit, and cinematography as only the award-winning director can deliver. However, parents must be warned that the film has mature themes and is not suitable for children.
