Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) non-traditional teaching methods might be challenged when a new character debuts in the third season of "How to Get Away with Murder."

According to a spoiler from TVLine, the series is looking for an actor who will portray the role of a "self-assured, friendly and warm" president of a university who will appear in a major arc in the season 3 plot. But the report did not reveal if the upcoming character will be Annalise's ally or a potential enemy who will oppose her unorthodox teaching style.

Meanwhile, showrunner Peter Nowalk revealed in a separate interview with TVLine that they are planning to shake things up a little bit to bring out a fresher concept for season 3.

In season 2, Annalise and her team of students, dubbed the Keating 5, tackled lesser individual cases each week compared to the premiere season. But in the upcoming season, Nowalk said that things will be different.

"I like switching it up, honestly. I don't want the show to become stale. In the back half of Season 2, we had so much emphasis on Rose's case that there wasn't room for cases of the week. We'll probably try to do a balance," the showrunner stated.

Other spoilers claim that the upcoming season will feature a love triangle between Asher (Matt McGorry), Bonnie (Liza Weil), and Michaela (Aja Naomi King).

In the first season, Asher and Bonnie hooked up when Annalise's associate attorney was having a particularly stressful day at work. Bonnie tried to keep it a secret, but Asher wanted to invest more emotion in their relationship.

But in season 2, Asher and his classmate and colleague Michaela had an unexpected hook up when he was comforting her after a heartbreak. Could this affect their relationship as they tackle more cases with Annalise and the rest of the Keating 5?

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 premieres on Thursday, Sept. 22, on ABC.
